2013 Funding for Languages

Grants of between $600 and $5,000 are available to support Languages programs in AISWA schools in 2013. Applications close 31 August 2012.

Funding is available in six areas:
Aboriginal Languages - up to $5,000 and dependent on participating in regional professional development co-ordinated by AISWA TP
Language Assistant(s) - Schools can access funding of $2,200.00 per language assistant. Two maximum per school. The school must co- contribute towards the language assistant. In the case of Indonesian only the language assistant will be employed by AISWA.
Special projects - school based special, innovative projects of up to $3,000. Please note this should be an innovative project and not a continuation of a previously funded project.
Development of a LANGUAGES Plan - $600. The purpose of this $600 grant is to enable schools to develop a LANGUAGES Plan.
Shadowing A Colleague - $250 towards teacher relief is proved for each of the teachers accessing the grant.
Create a Promotional DVD - $2,000 will be allocated to enable LANGUAGES departments to create their own publicity/ promotional DVD using footage created at their schools by their students. The grant money supports teachers to attend PD and provides relief when necessary to enable successful completion of the project in 2013.
